SkitZo MaN Archives 54 : Oh, Mom...
Whether or not the joke is actually funny, I'll leave up to the reader to decide.

Other than that bit of nitpicking, I kind of like this one. I like what I did with lettering Larry's scream, and the cat is pretty fun. Is SkitZo MaN too tall or not-big-headed enough, though, or is it just me?
This strip was originally posted in early 2007. For those who don't get the reference, it's a parody of the first comic featuring Spider-Man, Amazing Fantasy #15, along with the slogan "With great power comes great reponsibility."
SkitZo MaN looks a little "off" in this to me, but it was fun doing a comic book cover parody. Maybe I should have done it in the same dimensions, complete with a Spider-Man-ish logo.
Whatever That Means. This one, another from 2006, features a Napolean Dynamite reference. I'd gotten pretty decent at coloring in Photoshop by this time. However, one thing I notice here is my use of gradients. I used them too much back in the day, even in the first few pages of my newer webcomic, Doodze. Gradients are helpful, but in some cases they make whatever you're toning or shading look too smooth. Great if you're working on a picture of something shiny and new and metalic. Not so great if it's supposed to look natural, like the ground in this strip; or if it's supposed to be old and worn out, like the barn.
I like this one because it has ninjas. It's also the first of several in 2006 that Geoff helped me write, and as with the earlier strips, they were much more funny with his input. I would never have paired this cliche with ninjas on my own. Funny stuff. On an artistic level, I like the colour scheme in this one.
